Christina Tsevis | Illustrator (The Lucky Cake)

I am 27, I was born and raised in Athens and I have 3 siblings. My older brother Charis, was always my role model and kind of the reason I became an illustrator. I’ve been working as a designer since I was 17 and I always feel it’s the perfect way to express myself and communicate my feelings. I have a BA Honours in Graphic Design & Illustration (2006) from Akto Art & Design College/Middlesex University. Alongside my studies I worked in creating characters for educational multimedia for the magazine RAMkid. I also had the chance to work with environmental organizations such as MOm and magazines such as POP & ROCK. When people ask me what inspires me, I usually say music. I love animals. I also love walking, especially going up hills cause the view is always so rewarding. Other things I enjoy doing are-taking pictures, going to art exhibitions and museums and, of course, traveling. I believe that the illustrator’s work remains a toy, a continuing a narrative story, a song that fills the pages or color monitors.

Valentina Palladino | Editorial Intern, Social Media Extraordinaire

Valentina Palladino began her writing career at age 13, when she wrote a review of the final episode of the show Joe Millionaire. It was her first experience with journalism, and she quickly fell in love with reporting, storytelling, and bringing the world to those who didn’t have the means to see it for themselves. Since then she’s gone on to work for Pilates Style magazine and The Pohly Company in Boston, among others. She currently studies at Syracuse University at the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications as a Magazine Journalism and English dual major, and a soon-to-be Italian minor. She loves practicing yoga, going on adventures with friends, and spending time with her family which always travels to obscure, beautiful places that her father finds on various maps. Her favorite ice cream is vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles (waffle cones are extra points) and she has particular fascinations with foreign languages, graphic design, Michael Jackson, and making fresh pesto. www.flavors.me/valentinalucia
