At A-to-Z Publishing, we specialize in books that bring children and families closer to their culture, language, and traditions.

Anna Prokos founded the company in 2008 with the hopes of making a positive impact on families who celebrate their culture. She believes in preserving traditions and explaining their roots so that current and future generations of children can continue these celebrations for years to come. The families she meets at book signings and community events inspire her to create media with a vibrant cultural message.

Anna Prokos

Anna Prokos has written in more than 40 children’s books and has worked on projects for Sesame Street, Scholastic, Weekly Reader, Discovery Channel and more. As the founder of A-to-Z Publishing, she believes in preserving traditions and explaining their roots so that current and future generations of children can continue these important traditions for years to come. The families she meets at book signings and community events inspire her to create media with a vibrant cultural message.

Maria Rousakis

Maria Rousakis is the author of more than 20 children’s books. Her first book, Unique Melpo, was received an award from the Greek Chapter of the International Board of Books for Young People in 2002. It was published in the U.S. in 2003 as Unique Monique and was awarded the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Book Award. Maria is the Regional Advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writer and Illustrators in Greece, where she is inspired by her husband, three adventurous children and their daily excursions to school, libraries, museums and islands.

Christina Tsevis

Christina Tsevis’ illustrations for The Lucky Cake and The Lucky Egg bring many Greek traditions to life. The artist drew upon her own family celebrations to create the backgrounds and pictures for the books. Christina lives in Greece, and when she’s not creating posters and advertisements for various clients, you can find her wandering around Athens and other European cities in search of inspiring environments and characters for her upcoming projects.

Mark Weinstein

Mark Weinstein’s colorful drawings for Baboula Baby turn a mysterious monster into quite a memorable character. Mark is a professional illustrator who has delighted readers with bright illustrations in numerous books, e-books and coloring books. He enjoys drawing people and animals, and he often gets his inspiration from the books he reads, the people he meets and the amazing places he gets to visit as he travels throughout Greece and the United States.
